Jerk. Modern Jamaican Grill founder Dion Solano stated back in March 2014 that he expected his food truck business would have its first storefront that summer. Fast forward 15 months, and Jerk quietly opened at the corner of Chicago and Halsted earlier this week.

The brick-and-mortar space, which runs 3,500 square-feet, features an expanded menu from the food truck. New items include pork shoulder smoked for 14 hours and beef brisket smoked for 12 using pimento wood originating from Jamaica.

The full bar has 15 craft beers on tap, a wide selection of rum, and cocktails. There's also a café component, Café Blue, that will serve coffee from Halfwit Coffee Roasters and pastries from Beurrage Bakery.

You can see what Jerk. Modern Jamaican Grill has in store Sunday through Thursdays from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. until midnight.
