Starting on July 6, Tony Mantuano will shutter Bar Toma for a three to four weeks for a refresh. When the restaurant reopens, they'll be a renewed focus on pizza, Mantuano tells the Tribune.

Bar Toma opened in 2012 near the Water Tower. Mantuano feels they've gotten away from their focus on pizza baked in a wood-burning oven. That's why they're adding a second wood-burning oven to double pizza-making capacity.

Will the changes be enough to attract more locals down to Streeterville, in an area that many consider a tourist trap? Stay tuned.
