Go Inside JINYA Ramen Bar's New Chicago Location

The LA chain branches out into the Midwest and plans to open on Friday.

Chicagoans have yet another ramen choice as Los Angeles-based JINYA Ramen Bar will begin serving up broth on Friday in Lakeview. Jinya offers diners a bit more variety than most ramen shops with three different versions of tonkotsu.

The interiors feature exposed brick walls and plenty of earth tones. A corner bar, where customers can peek into the kitchen, has room for seven stools. There seems to be effort to keep sunlight out, as the lacquered-wood tables and metal-trimmed chairs provide an industrial feel. There's also a sizable television hanging on the wall, to the right of the entrance.

Jinya's team is aiming for to open from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday. Check their Facebook page for additional updates. Meanwhile take a look at the photos above.
