Someone decided to spice up the Facebook page of Home Run Inn last night, adding a large number of NSFW photos and links to the local pizza chain's timeline. Links to pornographic sites and articles about sexual positions, underarm hair braiding, and other non-family-friendly items littered the pizza chain's feed for nearly 24 hours.
The tip came via an apology e-mail sent by the company to customers earlier today that read as follows:
Dear Pizza Lover,
As a valued customer and Home Run Inn fan, we wanted to let you know that our Facebook account was compromised on Monday evening, June 22. We sincerely apologize for the unauthorized, objectionable content that was posted. We are actively working to regain access and will let you know when our page has been restored.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Sincerely,
The Home Run Inn Team
Home Run Inn headquarters regained access to their Facebook page a short while ago and the timeline is now filled with more pizza appropriate content.
The company sent out a follow-up e-mail before noon stating:
Dear Pizza Lover,
Our sincere apologies to our Facebook community for the inappropriate and offensive posts you may have seen over the past 24 hours. Our Facebook account was compromised, but please be assured the official Home Run Inn page has been restored. In addition, we want you all to know that this compromise was limited to Home Run Inn’s Facebook account only. Thank you for your feedback and support we received while working to resolve the issue. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Sincerely,
The Home Run Inn Team
