Austin, Texas-based Snap Kitchen is betting that Chicagoans will embrace their take on healthy grab and go offerings. They're rapidly expanding here, having already opened a Lakeview location last week at 621 W. Diversey, is opening a second today at 1534 N. Halsted in Lincoln Park, and adding third next week in the Loop at 233 W. Adams. Additional openings are scheduled to hit Chicagoland late this year.
DNAinfo recently reported rumors of Snap Kitchen eyeing the former City Soles storefront in Wicker Park. This Damen facing location is a high traffic spot, right off the Damen blue line stop near Stan's Donuts and Flash Taco at the intersection of Milwaukee, Damen and North Ave.
Snap Kitchen creates healthy pre-portioned meals for each part of the day that are prepared from scratch daily using organic and locally-sourced ingredients whenever possible. The Chicago locations also offer a selection of cold pressed juice ($7.99-9.99); a host of snacks ranging from $2.99-4.99, desserts ($2.49-$3.99). 99 percent of the menu is gluten-free, including Creole "Eggs & Grits" made from tofu, banana pancakes, Scottish salmon Nicoise salad, grass-fed bison quinoa "hash" and a chia cashew "milkshake."
