One of America's most line-inducing destination restaurants is coming to Chicago in less than a month. Franklin Barbecue, James Beard award-winning chef Aaron Franklin's Austin barbecue mecca that's famous for its hours-long lines that only President Obama can skip, has its own Twitter handle, and prompted a 13-year-old to brave the line for people for $50 a pop, is popping up in Chicago for three days in a series of event collaborations with Land & Sea Dept., an e-blast confirms. Mark July 2-4 on your calendars, as a recent Franklin popup in San Francisco sold out in under one minute.
Exactly what the events will hold is currently unknown, as Land & Sea Dept, the folks behind Longman & Eagle, Parsons Chicken & Fish, Lost Lake and most of the food and beverage concepts in the new Chicago Athletic Association Hotel, haven't responded to multiple inquiries. Stay tuned for details and ticket info.
