Bar Siena Has Signage Ahead of July Opening; Two Neighborhood Spots Shutter; More

WEST LOOP—Signage is up at Bar Siena, the latest concept from Dineamic Group (Siena TavernPrime & Provisions) and they're anticipating a late July opening. The space will have 180 seats spread over two levels and the food will feature antipasti and pizzas, along with something they're calling a BomboBar which will serve Italian doughnuts, shaved ice, gelato and more. LINCOLN SQUARE/LAKEVIEW—Los Nopales (ten years in business) and Hot Diggity Dogs (five years in business) have both shuttered. Mas Alla del Sol, another restaurant from the Los Nopales owners, remains open. [DNAinfo]

WEST TOWN—Mexique's Carlos Gaytan will host Top Chef season 12 fan favorite Katsuji Tanabe as well as that season's winning chef Mei Lin this Thursday, June 11 and Friday, June 12. The three Top Chef alums will all be cooking their brand of Mexican food for $140 per person (before tax and tip) and $60 for wine pairings. Reservations can be made by visiting Mexique's website.
