After regaining a spot in the top 10 of San Pellegrino's list of the world's best restaurants last year, Alinea fell into the 20's this year. Announced today in London, Grant Achatz's flagship restaurant clocked in at No. 26 on the World's 50 Best Restaurants List of 2015, falling 17 spots from last year, when it was No. 9.
But Alinea did gain the top spot in the public voting, when the Lincoln Park restaurant gained the first People's Choice award last week. Alinea's highest placement to date on the World's 50 Best was No. 6.
Two American restaurants, both in New York City, placed higher than Alinea this year: Eleven Madison Park (No. 5) and Le Bernardin (No. 18). No other Chicago restaurants placed in the full list of 100, which you can read here. Check out Eater National's explanation of the World's 50 Best list here.
