After less than 16 months in business near Northwestern, DMK Restaurants closed its burger and fish hybrid concept, DMK Burger & Fish, yesterday in Evanston. In a press release, DMK Restaurants (DMK Burger Bar, Fish Bar, Ada Street, Henry's Swing Club) says their new Navy Pier spot, slated to open in the summer, is akin to a relocation of the Evanston restaurant. They'll open a new concept in the Evanston location in the fall and the space will remain dark through the summer. The Tribune first reported this story.
DMK opened the Burger Bar/Fish Bar combo in February 2014, hoping to latch onto the student crowd near the Northwestern campus with a casual place for their popular burgers, sandwiches, fries, shakes, and beer. Stay tuned to see what Michael Kornick and David Morton do in Evanston next.
