THE LOOP—More news on the renovation of the Chicago Athletic Association Hotel has come with the announcement that Christian Ragano (NoMi, Glencoe's Guildhall) will head up the kitchen of Cindy's on the building's top floor. Ragano's menu will be seasonally-focused with Italian and Spanish influences. Nandini Khaund, who spent time at Big Star and the Violet Hour, has also been appointed the restaurant's beverage manager. [Crain]
SAN FRANCISCO—The guys behind Emporium Arcade Bar are closing in on expanding to San Francisco in the home of a historic Art Deco-style movie theater built in 1926. There also won't be a restaurant inside the space, but the incorporation of food trucks is a possibility, a la Emporium Logan Square. [Eater SF]
EDGEWATER—If you have $725,000 hidden in your couch cushions, then you can have the Edgewater Lounge, which is now on sale. Not only do you get a cool building that served as a popular watering hole for the neighborhood since 1908, you also get a site haunted by Mary, a former owner. Don't worry, it's not Poltergeist-level haunting, just mild "mischief," according to local reports. [Curbed]
