Barcocina Opening Tonight in Lakeview; Jeni's Returning on May 22; More

LAKEVIEW—Mexican-inspired Barcocina is opening for business tonight for walk-ins and is taking reservations for May 21 and beyond. This location at 2901 N. Sheffield marks the second for the brand (the first is in Baltimore). [EaterWire]

LAKEVIEW/WICKER PARKJeni's Splendid Ice Creams will return on May 22 at 7 p.m. after a listeria outbreak caused the entire chain to shut down and millions of dollars' worth of ice cream to be destroyed, according to a release. There are two locations in Chicago. [EaterWire]

RIVER NORTH—The Chicago outpost of Dolce Italian will debut in the Godfrey Hotel on May 19 with Andrew Deuel (Tesori) in place as executive chef. The Miami location was recently proclaimed the winner of Bravo's Best New Restaurant. [Tribune]

THE LOOP—The third annual Chefs' Playground will take place Thursday, June 4 at Terzo Piano featuring a number of big names including Sarah Grueneberg (upcoming Monteverde), Rick Ortiz (Antique Taco), Thai Dang (upcoming HaiSous) and Rick Bayless (Topolobampo).
