AROUND TOWN—StarChefs' 2015 Chicago Rising Star Awards have been announced and the winners include Parachute's Johnny Clark and Beverly Kim, Boka's Lee Wolen, Yusho's Harold Jurado, as well as pastry chefs from The Publican (Anna Posey), West Loop Salumi (Gregory Laketek) and NoMI Kitchen (Greg Mosko). The event will be held at Café Brauer in Lincoln Park Zoo on June 8, tickets are now on sale. [Tribune]

LINCOLN SQUAREThe Winchester's staff, out of work since an electrical fire temporarily shuttered the restaurant last week, are getting some help from Baker Miller in the form of a BYOB pop-up dinner this Saturday, May 16. LAKEVIEWChicago native Melissa McCarthy is filming her new movie, Michelle Darnell, in her hometown, specifically at Matilda's, which has been converted into a Mexican restaurant dubbed "El Burrito Sabroso."
