Louisiana-based Smoothie King wants to be...the King in the North, starting with an expansion that could include 100 locations in Chicago and the suburbs over the next three to five years, according to multiple reports. So far the chain has seven Illinois locations with one inside O'Hare International airport.

They'd use Chicago as a hub and expand to other Midwestern states. Smoothie King has the home arena of the New Orleans Hornets named after them, something Chicago comedian Hannibal Buress keeps in mind. Founded in New Orleans, the chain's in its 42nd year of operation. Looks like Protein Bar and Jamba Juice may have some competition.
