THE LOOP—When Land and Sea Dept.'s upcoming project at the Chicago Athletic Association opens it will feature Andrew Algren as its sommelier. Algren comes over from Alinea where he was that Michelin-starred restaurant's sommelier for the past two years. He and beverage director Paul McGee are working on developing the drink menus for the project, which is still shrouded in secrecy. Stay tuned for more. [EaterWire]

RIVER NORTH—Firecakes Donuts will release a special cherry Kool-Aid donut this Friday, May 1 that will be available the entire month. The donut features a cherry Kool-Aid glaze and sugar on top.
