RIVER NORTH—Rockit Bar & Grill reopens May 1 with a new look and a new menu after closing four months prior for revamping. Kevin Hickey (The Duck Inn) and Rockit executive chef Amanda Downing reworked the menu, while interior designer Kara Mann handled the renovations which include repainting, leather and banquet seating, 89 TVs and a 50-foot marble bar with a dual-facing counter. RIVER WEST—French bistro classics will be served at The Dawson's pop-up dinner series this Thursday, April 23 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. "The Rose Room" will find the restaurant getting transformed into a burlesque-style club from the early part of the twentieth century and guests are "encouraged" to wear cocktail attire. The event combines the talents of The Dawson, The Violet Hour, Scofflaw and Remy Martin and will feature a five-course menu for $65 per person. [EaterWire]
