Kuma's Corner, Friday Dinner Rush at 8 p.m.

Welcome back to the photo series Eater Scenes, where an Eater photographer visits one of the city's establishments at a certain, and very specific, time of day. For Eater's third Burger Week, Kuma's Corner.

Ashok Selvam is the editor of Eater Chicago and a native Chicagoan armed with more than two decades of award-winning journalism. Now covering the world of restaurants and food, his nut graphs are super nutty.

Friday night means those craving a burger at Avondale's infamous burger haven, Kuma's Corner, need to have patience, with hour-long waits common at dinner time. While pulsating metal plays in the background, the staffers carefully make their way through Kuma's dark and narrow aisles, serving diners mounds of beef patties, topped with diverse offerings including fried chiles, prosciutto and even a bourbon-poached pear. No, patrons won't watch the game here, bro. But the tatted-up bartenders will happily pour customers a variety of local craft beers.

Snap your fingers, snap your neck and check out Friday night's photos above.
