Original post as follows:

Chicagoans looking for a new frosty treat to enjoy during the warmer months have a new option with European gelato scooper Amorino. Their Chicago shop opens on Wednesday afternoon at 838 N. State St. It's Amorino's seventh U.S. store, with locations in Beverly Hills, Boston, Las Vegas and San Francisco, as well as two in New York.

Amorino announced in September they were coming to Chicago, and to kick off their arrival, their April flavor of the month is blueberry cheesecake. The first location opened in 2002 in Paris and they've expanded internationally serving up gelato, often in the shape of flowers, as well as hot drinks (Chicago's will pour Lavazza coffee drinks), milkshakes and chocolates. Some spots even serve waffles. They have more than 100 locations, from Austria, England to Saudi Arabia.

Initially, until May 1, they'll be open from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. on weekends.
