RIVER NORTH—Mario Batali will host a seven-course tasting menu (paired with Italian wines) of classic dishes from his New York restaurant Babbo on Sunday, April 19 at Baffo, the restaurant at the ground floor of Eataly. Dishes include vitello tonnato (veal carpaccio with shaved tuna, lemon aioli and chives), agnolotti del plin (prosciutto-filled agnolotti with grilled ramps and ramp puree) and agnello (leg of lamb with mint gremolata, English peas and lamb jus). NORTH CENTER—Sola isn't going away anytime soon despite earlier plans for it to close in April to make way for a new concept. A Facebook post indicates that the restaurant, formerly owned by Carol Wallack, will remain as is "at least through the summer" and "maybe even (into) early 2016." [EaterWire]
