Work on Begyle Brewing's taproom is moving along, as the North Center beer-makers have applied for a liquor license so it can serve pints. Construction could take four-to-six weeks.
It's been a long process, as the Begyle folks have renovated their retail and brewing space with plans for a 30-seat taproom. Begyle co-owner Kevin Cary told The Hop Review that he hopes to open by Chicago Craft Week, which starts May 14. Cary consented that meeting that deadline isn't likely, however.
Public notice for the liquor license was given on Monday. As far as the actual space, it will feature a roll-up door that opens to the street, and Begyle would like to attract food trucks during the warmer months. They're unsure if they'll offer sidewalk seating at this time. Stay tuned for more details.
