Eataly Billing Forthcoming Truffle-Themed Popup as 'America's First Truffle Bar'

Every dish on the limited-time menu will have truffles in it.

For two weeks beginning March 23, Eataly Chicago is morphing part of La Piazza into what they're terming "America's first truffle bar." All the savory dishes offered during that time at the mozzarella counter will feature truffles in one way or another, whether in a carpaccio, a spread, a sandwich, or shaved on a pasta or entree. The dishes, which mostly utilize black truffles, run from $9-19.

This truffle bar may be the first in the states, but a truffle restaurant and lounge, Tartufi & Friends, exists in Rome and Milan and is opening a London location in the swanky Harrods department store next month. That concept is far pricier, however, with white truffle dishes topping out at €75 ($79.45), while also offering cocktails and desserts laced with the pricey fungi.

Will a full-time truffle restaurant open in the U.S.? That remains to be seen, but you can check out the limited-time truffle bar at Eataly Chicago between March 23 and April 5. Eataly will also give away 10 free meals for two at the truffle bar before the opening, which they will randomly announce to diners in the Italian food hall. Read the full menu below.
