Da Lobsta Swimming into River North Within Days

It'll be the fourth location of the lobster-themed eatery with the cartoon mascot.

Da Lobsta River North

With two locations and food truck opened in just two years, a third location of Da Lobsta is slated to open in River North in mere days. Owner J. Wolf says he's hoping to open the newest location of the lobster-themed eatery with the cartoon mascot at 416 N. Clark Street on Monday. Crain's first reported the new spot.

Taking over the longtime former Sam's Grill (closed in December), the new location is slightly larger than the original brick-and-mortar in the Gold Coast and will eventually house outdoor seating. It will be BYOB, Wolf says, and add new fried items to the menu, including french fries and a deep-fried lobster roll. Look for it to stay open later than the original in hopes soaking up the River North nightlife scene.

After the original opened in January 2013, Da Lobsta has grown to the French Market, a food truck, and now River North. How many more will Wolf and team open in Chicago? Stay tuned.
