GOLD COAST— Velvet Taco will serve customers for the first time at a location outside of Texas when they open at 5 p.m. on Monday at 1110 N. State St. [EaterWire]

LAKEVIEW— Mirador Restaurant opened on Monday inside the former Bentley Tavern space at 2834 N. Southport Ave. They're serving French-inspired food for dinner with a full bar. [EaterWire]

THE LOOP— Red Robin Burger Works is opening a third Chicago location on Feb. 9. This one's going in at 190 W. Madison. St. The burger chain's planning a fourth location at 204 N. Wells St. [Crain's]

AROUND TOWN— Firecakes Donuts, 68 W. Hubbard St., is now mobile, as a new food truck began serving its sweets on Jan. 28. They sling flavors including honey glazed, maple glazed pineapple & bacon and butterscotch praline and serve La Colombe coffee. [EaterWire]
