Dion Antic is bringing "grown-up glamour" via a 1990s reboot to Lincoln Park on February 27. His revival of the former nightlife staple Harry's Velvet Room, the River North hotspot from 1992-2006 that's coming to the former Webster's Wine Bar space at 1408 W. Webster, is primed and ready after holding a preview party a few days ago.
The dimly lit space, which Antic says is inspired by literary lounges of post-war Paris, holds a variety of sophisticated design touches around every corner. Cushy seating, framed artwork and mirrors, chandeliers, and chartreuse and blue wallpaper are the hallmarks of the bi-level space, while two bars will focus on classic cocktails and wine.
Antic is also planning to serve brasserie-style food (oyster bar, steak frites, mussels), book DJs, and hold late hours. It'll be back from the dead beginning a week from today.
