Chicago's darling, Stephanie Izard is working on yet another restaurant.
Kevin Boehm, co-owner of the Boka Restaurant Group, wouldn't reveal any further details on Friday night when he let the news slip during the Jean Banchet Awards dinner. All Boehm would do is confirm that Izard, the Top Chef season four winner and force behind The Girl and the Goat and Little Goat, has another project on her plate. The news provided a cherry on top on Friday night for Boka, which took home four Banchet awards.
Izard certainly keeps busy. Monday happens to mark the first day customers can order a special pizza at Piece created by Izard. It's a red pizza with goat chili, pickled peppers, cheddar, goat spice and sour cream. Izard's is the second of three special pizzas available for only a month at Piece. Proceeds from the sales will benefit Pilot Light, the chef-centric charity helping kids.
Izard's pizza is only around for February, as Piece also offered a Honey Butter Fried Chicken pizza in January. Hot Doug's Doug Sohn will craft a pizza for March. No news on what will top that pizza, according to Piece owner Bill Jacobs. They raised $2,987.53 in proceeds last month from pizza sales, Jacobs added.
Check out a video of Izard crafting her pie and brace yourself for the music:
