Another Arizona-based clubstaurant party concept is invading River North. Bottled Blonde, a big, clubby pizza and craft beer place from spring breaky Scottsdale, signed a lease to take over the former SushiSamba space on Wells, according to new building owner Sean Conlon's company. Conlon Commercial is predicting a summer opening.
Bottled Blonde's website says "we've taken modern nods from both the classic Italian kitchen and German bier garden" when describing the concept. The 14,000-square-foot Chicago location will "follow the same blueprint," according to Conlon's press release, and be open seven days a week and serve brunch.
SushiSamba closed in early September and Conlon purchased the building in late December. Mexican-themed clubstaurant El Hefe and the now-shuttered American Junkie also came from Arizona, while plans for a River North location of the Arizona-based country bar Whiskey Row have also been in the works.
