Opening Report: Da Lobsta River North, New Japanese Spot in Lakeview, More

Plus two more places to try in Chicago.

Da Lobsta River North

1) RIVER NORTH—Da Lobsta opens the door tonight to its newest location in the heart of River North. The open-late BYO lobster eatery has exposed brick, lobster traps repurposed as light fixtures, and around 20 seats plus standing counter space and an outdoor patio in summer. The grand opening will take place on Thursday at 11 a.m. Status: Soft open. 416 N. Clark St.

2) LAKEVIEW—One Japanese spot has replaced another on Broadway. Shiawase Restaurant is now open in the former home of Kanok. Status: Certified open. 3422 N. Broadway St.

3) LINCOLN PARK—Twisted Baker is opening its relocated bakery and cafe in the former home of Cookie Bar tomorrow, and celebrating with 15 percent off everything in the place. It closed in Old Town in October. Status: Grand opening Wednesday. 2475 N. Lincoln Ave.

4) OLD IRVING PARK—There's a new neighborhood watering hole on the northwest side: The Cabin at Old Irving. Status: Certified open. 4104 N. Pulaski Rd.
