With two restaurants already shuttered, longtime Chicago vegan chef Karyn Calabrese is desperately trying to keep her flagship restaurant from closing too. Calabrese has created a GoFundMe online fundraiser to stave off the possible shuttering of her 16 year-old Lincoln Park flagship restaurant Karyn's Raw, less than 10 months after she put down Karyn's on Green in the West Loop. Karyn's Cooked also shuttered at 738 N. Wells.

Calabrese is hoping to raise a whopping $300,000, of which $3,243 has been funded at press time. DNAinfo caught up with her, and she says that the money is for rent and a slew of other expenses, some related to rebuilding after the fire two years ago and a tax snafu.

Will the restaurant, self-described as the longest-standing raw foods restaurant in the country, stay afloat at 1908 N. Halsted? Stay tuned.
