25 Degrees Opens in Wicker Park; Carb Free Cafe in Merchandise Mart; More

Woodfield gets Kinfork, Home of Hoagy's back and Serai arrives in Logan Square.

WICKER PARK— 25 Degrees opens their second Chicago location today, inside the former Barley & Brass spot. They'll be open and serve burgers for dinner on weekdays and weekends, as well as lunch on weekends. Status: Opening at 4 p.m., 2015 W. Division St.

RIVER NORTH— Carbohydrates are the enemy at Carb Free Cafe, which set up shop inside the Merchandise Mart. It's the brainchild of Robin Miller, host of Food Network's "Quick Fix Meals," and they're serving wraps, sandwiches and pastas, all without carbs. [Tribune] Status: Certified open, 222 Merchandise Plaza.

SCHAUMBURG— Woodfield Mall gets another sit-down spot thanks to Kinfork. Find small and large plates to satisfy that hunger built up while walking around the shopping center. Status: Opening Monday, Dec. 14 Opening Friday Certified open, 5 Woodfield Mall, Schaumburg. [Note: Kinfork reps emailed twice to say the opening has been pushed back. Twice.]

MORGAN PARK— Home of the Hoagy has settled into the space that neighbored their spot that burned down earlier this year. Those precious steak sweets are back on the South Side. Status: Certified open, 1316 W. 111th St.

LOGAN SQUARE— A new Southeast Asian spot soft opened last week in Logan Square. Serai is offering customers 15-percent off items this Tuesday through Thursday. They serve Thai food, like pad Thai, but also dishes from Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia. Status: Soft open with limited hours, 2169 N. Milwaukee Ave.
