WICKER PARK— The rebooted Carriage House, Buck's, opens on Wednesday. They've maintained the same ownership and staff, but the new food from chef Mike Galen mainly is about fried chicken and biscuits. Check out the menus below.
SCHAUMBURG— Punch Bowl Social will host its grand opening on Saturday, Dec. 12 at 1100 American Lane in Schaumburg. They'll have a DJ and general admission tickets cost $10, benefiting SOS Children's Villages Illinois. No word on a proper Chicago location, yet, for the entertainment complex that includes a bowling alley and other games.
RIVER NORTH— Four Corners Tavern Group will open the Fremont on Thursday, Dec. 10 inside the former American Junkie space, according to DNAinfo. It will feature a retractable roof. Check out the menu below.
WICKER PARK— 25 Degrees Wicker Park will open in the former Barley & Brass spot on Monday at 2015 W. Division St. Expect the same burgers and boozy shakes that made 25 Degrees popular in River North, along with two new items: The Number Five (lamb burger, tzatziki, feta, roasted tomatoes, red onion) and The Number Six (two beef patties, mustard, pickles, caramelized onions, American cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, Thousand Island dressing). MORGAN PARK— Home of the Hoagy, a South Side landmark since 1969, is reopening on Monday. A September fire shuttered the sandwich shop, but now they're back next door, according to a Facebook post.
