—Today's the day that Japanese chain and suburban ramen stalwart Ramen Misoya officially joins the ramen rush in the city of Chicago, opening the doors to its Streeterville location (213 E. Ohio St.) at 11 a.m. Click here to look over the menu, which has a variety of miso ramens, toppings, and more.

—Embattled Bucktown nightclub Koncrete was shut down by the city following a shooting outside the club last week, according to multiple reports.

Buck's, in the former Carriage House space, is launching brunch on one of the biggest brunch days of the year—New Year's Day. The very simple menu is similar to the dinner menu (dim sum-style checklist; focusing on biscuits). Read it below.

Buck's brunch

Band of Bohemia launched an interesting bar snack menu last week—but the hot culinary brewhouse is only planning to serve it twice. The second, and last time (for now) will be this coming Saturday to try their black rice "Cracker/Chip/Crisp" (with charred lemon and american caviar), pork rinds with togarashi, wild lime, bourbon barrel soy, sturgeon bacon, baked potato bar chips, and "Bowl of Fun" (housemade korn nutz, fried kale, sunchoke chips).

—Longtime local hospitality trailblazer and former bar owner Roland "Oz" Schoenstadt passed away on Dec. 8 from kidney disease, the Tribune reports. He was 65.
