Immm Rice & Beyond, the unique Thai street food spot in Uptown from the co-owner of Spoon Thai, opened on Sunday. The restaurant features a rotating selection of steamed rice dishes at the former Thai Avenue address at 4949 N. Broadway St. The restaurant was also referred to as Immm Tong.

The featured items, kao rad gaeng — a style of Thai street food served on a bed of rice— will change regularly, and ownership says to check out the restaurant's Facebook page for the day's selection. That menu will include a variety of curries, including dried panang curry with pork, green curry with featherback fish balls and sweet five-spice stew with pork, eggs and puff tofu. They'll also have more familiar items available. The soft opening is until Wednesday, and they're offering a 20-percent discount to customers.

Immm Rice & Beyond, 4949 N. Broadway St., (773) 293-7378, over 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week.
