But there's no opening date yet for The Sixth.

Saturday is opening day for the long-awaited Roots Handmade Pizza location in Lincoln Square. It's Roots' second location, but there's a catch, as ownership offered no update on when Ben Schiller's neighboring cocktail bar, The Sixth, would open at 2200 W. Lawrence Ave. Fifty/50 Restaurant Group first announced their second Roots project in June 2013.

Roots, which serves its version of Quad City-style pizza with malted crusts, opened in 2011 in West Town. Fifty/50's Greg Mohr, a Quad City native, opened the restaurant. The new spot seats 120, with an additional 22 at the bar.

There's a few wrinkles special for Lincoln Square on the menu: Loaded hummus, garlic parmesan bread sticks, a fried eggplant appetizer, chicken tortilla soup and a kale and roasted Brussels sprouts salad. Check out the food menu here, with desserts here. Drink wise, there's 22 draft beers and 100 bottles and cans with a focus on the Midwest. Craft cocktails, including a cocktail of the month, will be offered. Here's that drink list.

So all systems are go for Roots Lincoln Square, but when will The Sixth get the green light? Come back for updates.
