JEFFERSON PARK— The owners of BRGRBelly are ready to show Chicago their new takes on Italian beef sandwiches with BeefBelly, featuring a variety of different broths to add Southeast Asian, barbecue and Mexican flavors to the familiar thin-cut beef delicacies. GOLD COAST— Coconutz Chicago plans on giving Rush and Division a tropical excursion inside the former Bootleggers space. Multiple bars and sharable plates are part of this endeavor, as owners hope the opening ushers in "the next generation" of establishments on Division Street. Status: Opening on Wednesday, 13 W. Division St. [UPDATE: Coconutz is delayed indefinitely and won't open to the public on Dec. 2 as planned. Stay tuned for the new opening date.]

ALBANY PARK— Looks like Dudley Nieto, the chef behind Barbakoa in suburban Downers Grove, is behind a new Mexican street food spot in Albany Park. Rojo Gusano quietly opened sometime in November, and they're accepting reservations on an OpenTable link that lists Nieto as chef. Status: Certified open, 3830 W. Lawrence Ave.
RIVER NORTH— Asado Coffee has stealthily opened in River North, giving them four Chicago locations. The acclaimed coffee shop has a fireplace and plush seating inside this spot. Status: Certified open, 363 W. Erie St.
