—Two operators are vying to open cocktail lounges in the historic former Lawrence House apartment complex in Uptown, Uptown Update reports. Eric Reid, a pharmacist, is hoping to open Apothecary, an "upscale craft cocktail lounge" at 1020 W. Lawrence, and has more than $17K raised via Kickstarter. Meanwhile, the owner of Heritage Bicycle General Store is also hoping to open a coffee house and bar in the space. [UPDATE: Heritage is the only business opening in Lawrence House, according to a rep.]
—Another new restaurant is heading to the West Loop, this time at the former Chromium night club space across the street from Momotaro at 817 W. Lake, Crain's reports. Owners Frank Callero and Steven Zaleski are keeping the concept under wraps for now.

—Star brewery Two Brothers is working towards another suburban brewpub and restaurant, this time at 16 W. Jefferson Ave. in Naperville, the Tribune reports.
—Bridgeport Coffee is planning on opening another south side location in early December at 9135 S. Western in Beverly. It would be its fourth spot after the original in Bridgeport and expansions in Hyde Park and the South Loop.
