The rum-driven Gold Coast bar Sparrow isn't the only new spot that Footman Hospitality is working on. The owners of Bangers & Lace, The Betty and Bucktown Pub are also working towards opening a tavern in Logan Square—at 2758 W. Fullerton in the space that once housed corner neighborhood bar Johnny's Lounge—according to a liquor license application. Footman isn't revealing any detail on the name, concept or opening timeframe yet, so sit tight for that intel.
The space at Fullerton and California is around the corner from that ballooning stretch of Milwaukee Avenue, home to The Radler, Slippery Slope, Emporium Logan Square and many more hotspots. Heisler Hospitality, who just opened Queen Mary and are former Bangers & Lace partners, are also working on a bar a couple blocks north on Milwaukee. Add this new spot from Footman and Logan Square's status as one of the hottest drinking and dining neighborhoods in the country shows no signs of letting up.
