Last month, Carriage House management announced the restaurant would close and reopen in early December with more emphasis on the bar operation, perhaps better capitalizing on Division Street nightlife. That rebranding came with a new name, but now a month after that announcement, ownership says they're going with yet a different moniker for the new hopefully-hipper Southern hangout. That new name is Buck's.
So, forget about CH Bar + Provisions; we hardly knew ye. Despite the newer name, Buck's remains the same new concept Carriage House officials detailed last month. The news release announcing Buck's was heavy on the word "eclectic," as in "an eclectic environment that combines Southern funk with a neighborhood feel."
Buck's still will serve Southern food with chef Mike Galen staying onboard. No reason was given for the name change, or what the name "Buck's" is supposed to entail. Perhaps that mystery will be unraveled at a future date. There's already a new Buck's website. What will happen to CH Bar + Provisions' site?
