Hot Bar By Baker Miller’s Menu Presents Baked Goods In Creative New Ways

Millers also reversed their decision to drop house-baked breads.

The menu at Hot Bar by Baker Miller—the second solo venture for Dave and Megan Miller—gives the couple the opportunity to take some chances. Those most famously includes "doughnots" and "Stuffies," Baker Miller's takes on doughnuts and waffles, respectively.

There's four varieties of doughnots, including cookies & cream and cinnamon toast. The Stuffies selections will rotate with sweet and savory stuffings, and opening week's choices include the holiday-themed pumpkin pie as well as prosciutto and cheese. Not to be forgotten, Hot Bar serves up breakfast sandwiches, on either a house-made English muffin or buttermilk biscuit, and a variety of ingredients includes gooey Chihuahua cheese.

The first week for Hot Bar also led Dave and Megan Miller to reverse their decision on no longer baking bread. Dave Miller said bread sales surged, so they'll continue to carry and bake some breads at both the original Baker Miller in Lincoln Square and the new Hot Bar, which opened on Saturday in Ravenswood Manor.

"We will no longer offer boules or other forms but we will do our sunflower rye and our sourdough loaves — which have become somewhat of cult classics," Miller wrote via email. "They're also the breads we opened with."

Cookies & Milk (malted milk custard, house-made dark chocolate cookie crumble, white chocolate drizzle)
Toast and Jam (slightly toasted doughnot stuffed with plum jam)
Maple Cream (filled with maple custard and dipped in a maple glaze)

English Muffin (herb-baked egg, basil pesto, feta, house-made sourdough English muffin
Biscuit (buttermilk biscuit, house thick-cut candied bacon, Parmesan, gooey chihuahua cheese)

Pumpkin pie (pumpkin pie custard, raw sugar candied pecans, pumpkin spice powdered sugar)
Cherries & Cream (tart cherries, vanilla bean cream cheese frosting)
Prosciutto & Cheese (shaved prosciutto, mustard cheese sauce)
The Greek (feta cheese sauce, preserved lemon, toasted sunflower seeds, dill)
