UPDATE: Some clarifications to this post. Big Wig Tacos and Burritos is set to open in the spring in an undetermined location. Also, there are no plans to reopen Taco Burrito King River North. Full, edited post follows:

Black Wednesday will be the last hurrah for popular 24-hour-a-day haunt Taco Burrito King River North. The Mexican spot will close on the morning of Thanksgiving, Nov. 26. But there's a new concept on the horizon: A fast-casual spot called Big Wig Tacos and Burritos. It's the same ownership, and they hope to open sometime in the spring in a new location.

Not much is known about Big Wig, but owner Jose Manolo Estrada said in a statement that "it will pick up where Taco Burrito King River North left off." It's said to feature more premium ingredients with a classic take on Mexican food. They'll still focus on late-night service, so those needing something to soak up the alcohol will still have their oasis.

Meanwhile, they'll celebrate TBK's last day with something called the "Last Chance Taco Dance Party" which includes a DJ playing music from 3 a.m. to 6 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning after the bars let out for Black Wednesday, which is traditionally the most-popular bar night of the year. So be prepared for a special kind of show on closing day. They'll also serve breakfast burritos for half off the normal $7.99 price, in case guests don't need to save room for turkey later in the day.
