Guests can final board the Queen Mary tonight when it casts its anchor down on Division Street, hoping to embark on a new era of British Royal Naval-themed fun in Wicker Park. Much has been written about the efforts to revamp the former Polish bar that's stood vacant since 1975, and now drinkers will finally be able to sample the highly-anticipated cocktails Heisler Hospitality (Pub Royale, Lone Wolf, etc.) has mixed up for customers.
The menu includes 10 cocktails, each costing $12. The mandatory spicy drink comes in the form of the St. Erasmus (Wray and Nephew white overproof rum, Lustau Amontillado sherry, lime, jaggery, Ceylon cinnamon and chili). The Navy Strength Old Fashioned is a twist on the classic drink (Hayman's Royal Dock Navy Strength gin, Demerara, Angostura bitters). Large format lovers can grab some friends and try the hot tea punch ($36). There's also a rotating daily grog for $10 for those wanting some more hearty.
They also plan on pouring a light and dark beer on draft, so folks can imbibe black and tans. Read the cocktail menu below.
