Chicago's fried chicken scene grows to include one more with today's opening of Arlen's Chicken in Evanston. From DMK Restaurants, the new chicken spot replaces the shuttered DMK Burger & Fish and keeps things simple with a straightforward, focused menu (see below).
The menu features chicken nuggets (in 6-, 12- and 18-piece options) that come with either tater tots or biscuits, as well as a biscuit sandwich featuring either chicken or egg. There's also sides (tots, biscuits and cole slaw) as well as DMK shakes (toasted marshmallow, anyone?) and a couple of other dessert items. Named after staffer Britt Arlen (who won a company sponsored chicken cook-off for the honor), Arlen's Chicken is now open.
Arlen's Chicken, 815 Noyes St., Evanston, (847) 424-8226.
