EVANSTON—The ramen boom has landed in Evanston, as a new spot, Table to Stix Ramen, opened in late October. There's tonkatsu, veggie miso and shoyu varieties, plus small plates and appetizers on the menu. Status: Certified open, 1007 Davis St., Evanston.

LINCOLN PARK—Clybourn Avenue now has a new pizza spot with a "water bar," something called a "drizzle bar" (for sauces) and something else called "pizzaristas." Zoom Pizza Factory, from a former Wolfgang Puck staffer, uses a stone conveyor oven to cook square pizzas and also pizza salads. Status: Certified open, 2156 N. Clybourn Ave.
MORGAN PARK—There's a new spot for fast and fried Miami-style seafood on the far south side with Snappers Seafood & Chicken, which replaced Nicky's Drive-Thru, DNAinfo reports. Look for fried whole snapper, conch, shrimp, catfish, and other goodies. Status: Certified open, 11500 S. Western Ave.

PORTAGE PARK—Suburban bakery and cafe favorite Fannie Schmoe's has landed in the city limits, soft opening a location on the far northwest side. Look for sweet and savory baked goods, coffee and other drinks, and comfortable couches. Status: Soft open, 5020 W. Montrose Ave.
PILSEN—Deep dish fans in Pilsen now have their very own Giordano's, which opened yesterday with a ribbon cutting on 18th Street. Status: Certified open, 1401 W. 18th Street.
