Peek Inside Appellation, Pastoral's New Wine Bar/Restaurant In Andersonville

They hope to open next week.

Appellation Wine Bar & Restaurant, the fourth retail location and second full-service restaurant from Pastoral, aims to open sometime next week in Andersonville. Visitors will be able purchase cheese and wine from the retail side for home use, but also dine in a 75-seat dining area with a wine bar inside a 3,800-square-foot space.

The team from Moss Design, which handled the original flagship Bar Pastoral in Lakeview, as well as Crew Bar + Grill, created a space the utilized the existing reclaimed exposed brick. The windows will open up to Clark Street, and there's wine labels etched into the tables, along with a chandelier hovering above the chef's table.

There's a slicing counter featuring small-batch charcuterie and mustard on tap from Maille. Yes, draft mustard. Jesse Williams, former chef at the now-shuttered Birchwood Kitchen, is in charge of the food. The menu includes egg noodles with milk-braised pork shoulder ragu, carrots, leeks, fennel and olive; as well as a patty melt with smoked-onion confit, Swedish cheese, miche and frites.
