The burgeoning restaurant scene in Streeterville gets another addition tomorrow with Lettuce Entertain You's Bib Gourmand-winning Beatrix. The all-day cafe, restaurant and bar officially opens to the public on Thursday morning, taking over the space in the Northwestern Hospital Building (671 N. St. Clair St.) that previously housed the critical darling Cicchetti.
The interior has gotten a makeover, adding more communal tables, comfortable seating, pastry displays (including a "chocolate closet"), hot and cold food bars for grab-and-go items, and coffee equipment. There's also a large private dining space and look for a 100-seat outdoor area next spring.
