Another downtown restaurant is closing to make way for a residential building, as Blue Frog Bar & Grill announced they'll close on Jan. 16. A 114-apartment development will replace Blue Frog, which stands off the street on LaSalle, between Superior and Huron.

Many passersby would completely miss Blue Frog, as it's shielded by a parking lot off LaSalle. The dive features karaoke, a rare find in River North, and their greasy American food helped keep the party going. Ownership wrote via Facebook that they "put up a good fight, but in the end it's "another mom and pop diner lost to the man."
Karaoke fans have four months to sing their goodbyes, but fear not. Blue Frog's Local 22 remains open on Hubbard Street if loyal customers need their fix of a similar menu.
