Best Intentions fraternal co-owners Calvin and Christopher Marty say that their hot Logan Square bar is the only one in the world with Angostura bitters on draft. So naturally, when approached to make a special drink in honor of Eater's fourth annual Cocktail Week, they utilized it. "We love doing shots of Angostura and we love making cocktails with it," Calvin Marty says. "As the seasons change and the holidays approach, our version of an 'Angostura Flip' is the perfect combination of sweetness and spice with a touch of mint and salt."
Their "Angostura Flip" combines Harvey's Bristol Cream Sherry, Broker's Gin, Fernet Branca Menta, and a whole egg for a hearty, minty, sweet concoction. They garnish it with Hawaiian black lava salt and serve it in a silver chalice for that royal touch. "Who doesn't want to sit back by the fake fireplace and sip their libation from a silver chalice?" Marty asks.
Their "Angostura Flip" is available all this week only in honor of Cocktail Week at Best Intentions.
