The sun is about to set on Spencer's Jolly Posh Foods, as the British restaurant and grocer is closing on Nov. 1. Ownership moved operations two blocks south in summer 2014 from Irving Park and Southport to Southport and Grace. They made the shutter announcement via Facebook.

The Jolly Posh store is closing its doors. Our final day of business will be Sunday, November 1st.

British sandwiches and proper tea were part of Spencer's menu, along with imported groceries. A Facebook post from management read that they'll still make bacon, sausages and puddings, but sell them at farmer's markets and stores like Mariano's. The business has been around since 2012, and the new spot was about quadruple the space of the old location. Southport Corridor News was the first to report the pending closing.
