THE LOOP— Another Protein Bar is set to open at 11 a.m. on Friday at 151 N. Michigan Ave. Two customers could win a prize pack that includes free Protein Bar food for a year, a one-year membership to Lakeshore Sport & Fitness and a Fitbit. ROGERS PARK— Lickity Split Frozen Custard on Monday opened a second location at 7000 N. Western Ave. They announced plans early last year to expand from their first shop at 6056 N. Broadway St. in Andersonville. Besides the frozen treats, hot cider, espresso and warm pastries are available. [DNAinfo]

CHINATOWN— Little Lamb Hotpot opened just before the New Years at 2201 S. Wentworth Ave. They claim their recipe for hotpot broth came from an ancient legend made by a monk that strengthened Mongolian soldiers with special herbs and lamb. [EaterWire]
