UPDATED: Say Goodbye to Heaven on Seven on Rush Street

A Facebook post broke the news this morning.

Facebook

Heaven on Seven has served its last gumbo at the Rush Street location. The cajun restaurant and bar in the Loews movie theater just off Michigan Avenue and across the street from the new Shake Shack abruptly shuttered this morning, according to a Facebook post that was first reported by DNAinfo.

Owner Jimmy Bannos, who is also embroiled in a bombshell back-and-forth lawsuit with Scott Harris over The Purple Pig, has not yet responded to messages.

This Heaven on Seven is Bannos' second location after the original on Wabash. Opened in 1997, it was a second-floor tourist destination.

The Wabash and Naperville locations remain open.

UPDATEBannos told Crain's that the closure has nothing to do with The Purple Pig's legal battle. It was just time to close, he said.
