OLD TOWN— A new eatery focusing on "bubble tea, coffee and Asian snacks" could soon be taking over a long-vacant storefront at 1211 N. LaSalle Dr. A sign went up for Cassava Cafe, and it also says there will be games. There's no business license listed in the city's system as of yet, and no indication when they'd open. [EaterWire]

BRONZEVILLE — FroYo enthusiasts on the South Side have a new place as Forever Yogurt announced they're coming to 17 W. 35th St. in Bronzeville. It should open by the end of next month. [DNAinfo]

LAKEVIEW — A new location for L'Appetito is scheduled for an October opening at 3332 N. Broadway Ave. It's called Cafe L'Appetito Lakeview, and joins locations inside the John Hancock Center and at 30 E. Huron St. [EaterWire]

BRIDGEPORT— Excavators have dug up the foundation outside Maria's Packaged Goods and Community Bar, as management continues their expansion project. Maria's staff posted photos of the work on its Facebook page. Their adding more seating and a kitchen and hope for a spring opening. [EaterWire]
