Though it sits inside the DePaul Center in The Loop, East has nothing to do with the Big East or sports.

The restaurant, which opens today, is part of the ever-expanding Hot Woks Cool Sushi empire. Management provided a massive interior facelift to the former My Thai space, now boasting a more modern feel with dark-wood-paneled tables and red and gray metal chairs.

The word "East" is emblazoned to the wall with wreaths encircling each letter. There are no stools for a sushi bar, but customers can see how their sushi is rolled at the cashier's counter.

Check out the menu, which includes bento boxes for those busy Loop workers. A full selection of ramen is also available. It also seems those delicious Asian-style ribs from Hot Woks Cool Sushi's Asian Outpost have made their way from the South Loop. Oh, and there's PBR.
